Purpose of Competition

To recognise and highlight companies committed to working with low carbon technology, which are demonstrating excellence and innovation in the low carbon sector.

Judging Criteria

Judges will be considering all aspects of company performance that relates to low carbon. There will be an emphasis on the following factors:

  • A low carbon growth model
  • Commitment to skills and employment development 
  • Minimising the environmental impact of manufacturing
  • Investment in people and equipment 
  • Innovation in low carbon product design and processes
  • Sales performance and growth prospects
  • Low carbon and sustainable ethics embedded in the company culture
  • Economic and social contribution to the local community

Examples of a low carbon growth model that recognizes the opportunities in the North East as being a ‘low carbon economic area' will be relevant to the judges, as will companies that are overcoming challenges in the sector, creating jobs, driving technology innovation and developing skills.

Eligibility

The competition is open to any businesses with a significant low carbon sector presence in the North East. The competition is not open to the category sponsors or Trinity Mirror North East publications.

All financial information will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be disclosed to anyone other than the panel of judges and its advisors. Please provide enough relevant information to enable the assessors to form a clear picture of your achievements.
